Egypt is endowed with huge amounts of mineral resources among which the ironstone deposits located at the El-Gedida mine, El-Bahariya Oasis, Western Desert, Egypt. This mining area contains million metric tons of iron ores that are considered the only commercial oolitic ironstone in the northern Africa and southern Europe [ 1 ].Author: Galal H. Some new occurrences of manganese deposits in the Eastern Desert of Egypt by Monir G. Ghobrial Download PDF EPUB FB2

Manganese ore deposits are widely scattered in various districts in Egypt. They occur at some localities in Sinai Peninsula and at a few localities in the Eastern Desert. Manganese deposits are known: 1) in the Um Bogma district in west central Sinai; and 2) in the Halaib "Elba" district in the southern portion of Eastern Desert.

MANGANESE DEPOSITS OF EASTERN ARIZONAY by L. ~wnharn,y L. ~tewart,y and C. ~e~ongy INTRODUCTION AND SUMMARY This paper is one of a series covering mineral resources of the Nation. It describes briefly most of the known manganese deposits of eastern Arizona, which for the purpose of this report includes the counties of Navajo, Apache.

The present work deals with the geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, and origin of the metagabbroic-hosted manganese deposits at Wadi Maliek in the southern Eastern Desert of Egypt.

It is very similar to iron in its chemical properties. The aim of the present study is to explore and locate iron-ore deposits and their mineral potentialities in the western part of the South Eastern Desert of Egypt.

E GHONEIM Dept. of Geology, Faculty of Sciences Tanta University, Tanta, Egypt Abstract - The marie minerals of the two essential gabbroic rocks from the central Easte~ Desert Cited by: Mining in Egypt has had a long history that goes back to predynastic times.

Egypt has substantial mineral resources, including 48 million tons of tantalite (fourth largest in the world), 50 million tons of coal, and an estimated million ounces of gold in the Eastern Desert.

The total real value of minerals mined was about £E million (US$ million) inup from £E60 million (US. This The mineral potential in Egypt is quite high. Almost all sorts of industrial minerals such as metallic and non-metallic commodities exist in commercial amounts. However, Egypt imports many of the mineral commodities needed for the local mineral industries.

The main reason for this is that the investors, either the governmental or the private sectors, refrain from investing into the Cited by: 6. Akmal M. Only Oriente and Pinar del Rio provinces have more than a few known deposits and only the deposits of Oriente have yielded any appreciable amount of ore.
